<h2>HOWL Gallery Presents The Art of David Hatchett</h2>

<div>Pop and avant garde artist David Hatchett brings his colorful and surreal paintings to HOWL Gallery for a March exhibit. David is a prominent artist in the growing Fort Myers art scene and well known among artists and collectors in New York. His professional art career began in 1969, in New York City, when he was a student in the Whitney Independent Study Program. He continued his studies in New York, earning his MFA from Rutgers University. He has explored many avenues of creativity with works in sculpture, costume design, lyric writing, performing in rock bands, as well as film and spoken word performances. His work revolves around both the subject and idea of "found objects". Found drawings from his childhood and found imagery from close-up photographs of his sculptures have been appropriated as subject matter in his most recent paintings. For David Hatchett, âThe idea of the found object in my art, has long ago evolved from it
s original aesthetic sculptural base and been replaced as a state of mind interacting with my environment as nature.â David has shown his sculptures and paintings in solo and group shows in major galleries for more than three decades of living and working in New York City and currently resides in Fort Myers.</div>

HOWL Gallery will be featuring the artistâs original paintings and affordable limited edition prints. A public Opening Reception will be held during the Downtown Fort Myers Art Walk on March 5th, 2010. Meet the artist from 6-10pm, light refreshments will be provided. Live music by Cosmic Mountain from 8-10pm on the HOWL Gallery back patio. The show will run until March 31st, 2010. For private showings please contact Alainna Zwiernik at HOWL Gallery.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Author Justin Chadbourn is a son of New England, born and raised in Northwood, New Hampshire.<span style="">  </span>He had no specific interests in poetry and the classics while growing up, but enjoyed writing, history, science, and knew he wanted to be an artist before he knew there was life after grade school.<span style="">  </span>Thanks to a supportive and adventurous family, he was able to seek out and imagine those old spots in the woods where stone walls appeared from autumn leaves and overgrown paths hid history and character.<span style="">   </span>While attending St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, he spent a semester studying art, literature and theatre in London, before moving to Florida and subsequently beginning his martial arts training.<span style="">  </span>This led to a year-long intensive training as uchideshi, live-in student of martial arts, in Birmingham, Alabama.<span style="">  He
currently resides in Fort Myers, Florida, close to his family and friends, frequenting the coffee shops in his search for the next great poem.<span style="">  </span>He worked as a teacher, picture framer and security officer, and conceived his first major work, <i>The Prosceniad</i>, during a dream.<span style="">  </span><span style=""><br />

Chadbourn<span lang="EN-GB" style=""> for a signing of <i style="">The Prosceniad.<span style=""> </span></i></span></strong><span lang="EN-GB" style=""><i style=""><span style=""> </span></i>Mr. Chadbourn’s book is an epic poem following the hero’s journey as he endeavors to save the world of his childhood.<span style="">  </span>Copies of <i style="">The Prosceniad</i> will be available for purchase during the event.<span style="">  </span>The free signing event takes place Saturday, January 30<sup>th</sup>, 2010, from 1-4pm at HOWL Gallery, located at 1514 Broadway, <st1:address w:st="on"><st1:street w:st="on">Suite</st1:street> 101</st1:address>, in the Downtown Fort Myers River District.<span style="">  </span></span></p>
